OPEN MEETING LAW

All town boards, committees and commissions are subject to the provisions of the Massachusetts Open Meeting Law.  This law is designed to ensure that government activities are conducted in public, giving citizens and the press the right to attend.  Only meetings that conform to strict definitions for “Executive Sessions” are exempted.  The agenda items must concern individual reputations, matters being negotiated, and disciplinary or security decisions.  Notice of all meetings must be posted with the Town Clerk at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to the meetings and minutes must be recorded.  Call the Town Clerk for dates, times and places of meetings.
